TIGRE SOUNDS: Your music seamlessly fuses Brazilian rhythms with electronic beats. How would you describe the essence of your sound?

bewav: I grew up listening to artists like The Martinez Brothers and Black Child. I love the mix of Latin, Afro, and tribal vibes, and I think that’s what defines my sound—blending these influences into something energetic and danceable.

TIGRE SOUNDS: Brazil has such a rich musical heritage. How do you integrate traditional sounds into your electronic creations?

bewav: Brazil’s culture is incredibly diverse. From Bossa Nova to 80s funk, artists like Tim Maia and Rita Lee have shaped our musical identity. I love grooves and melodies, and recently, I’ve been incorporating Brazilian funk and vocals into my music. Now, I’m focused on blending 80s funk melodies with driving grooves that make people want to move. That’s the vibe I go for.

TIGRE SOUNDS: Which artists or genres have had the biggest impact on your musical journey? And what are you listening to on repeat now?

bewav: The Martinez Brothers are my biggest influence. Right now, I’m really into Bontan—he’s incredible. I also admire Jesus Fernandez, who makes amazing tribal tracks. I actually went viral playing one of his songs. I love blending different elements from these artists into my sets.

TIGRE SOUNDS: As a Tigre Selector, what is the vibe you aim to create for listeners? Are there any specific emotions or stories you want to evoke through your curated playlist?

bewav: I want to create a vibe that feels sexy and euphoric—that moment when the sun starts rising at a party, and you just feel the music taking over. The kind of beat that makes you want to dance, feel connected, maybe even fall in love. Honestly, I became a DJ because I needed a girlfriend!

TIGRE SOUNDS: Looking back at your career so far, what has been the most defining or proudest moment for you as an artist?

bewav: I’ve had an amazing journey in Brazil, playing at venues like Baroque and Park Art, but my international gigs have been special. Playing in Amsterdam at A’DAM Tower with Clasmatic, my mentor, was unforgettable. Ibiza was another incredible experience. And of course, performing at Ultra Brazil—that was a dream come true.

TIGRE SOUNDS: Are there any emerging Brazilian or global artists we should be paying attention to? Who’s pushing boundaries in music right now?

bewav: Brazil has so much talent. You already know names like Mochakk, Clasmatic, and Beltran, but keep an eye on Traless, Abud, Mariano, Nocaps, and Solace Brothers—these guys are really pushing the sound forward.

TIGRE SOUNDS: Your live performances are electric. How do you translate your music into an immersive experience for the audience on stage?

bewav: I love to dance and interact with the music. I take time to learn lyrics so I can lip-sync while performing—it’s part of how I connect with the crowd. My name is bewav, and I want people to truly feel the wave when I play. I don’t just want to be a DJ—I want to be a performer.

TIGRE SOUNDS: As we step into 2025, what are you most excited about in your career? Any upcoming projects or collaborations we can look forward to?

bewav: I’m focused on blending Latin, Afro, and tribal sounds into my new projects. I have an upcoming release on Mini-Edges and Dance Cuff, which fuses disco-funk elements with tech house, techno, and Afro beats. I also have new sets dropping on YouTube and SoundCloud, plus a major release I can’t announce just yet. I’m hoping to get my U.S. visa soon, so I can finally meet the Miami crowd!
